Offroading with the ADV1 in the Arizona desert

The ADV1 has 7″ of suspension, provided by an air shock and a CAD-designed linkage system. You can easily set the preload on the shock, depending on how much weight you’re carrying, and hit the road, even if that road has a few rocks to climb over.

Neither Luke or I are highly skilled off-roaders. And given we were on a big, heavy BMW R1250GS and a ever-so-slightly more petite H-D Pan America, we were a bit nervous when the road we had chosen to “see where it goes,” turned quite rough. But the technologies of the bikes and the ADV1’s amazing engineering and suspension meant even two 90-road/10-offroad riders were able to take on some challenges. And in the end, those challenges were a blast.
